The program will be based outdoors and we will limit numbers based on AHS health restrictions and guidelines. In a previous post we talked about obsidian found at Bodo, a raw material that was transported or traded from thousands of kilometres away. BUT we also have lots of locally sourced lithic material that people used to make stone tools and projectile points. One of the most common is pebble chert, which is what this point was made from. These pebble cherts can be found scattered about, but there are also two known pebble chert quarries not too far from Bodo. The cherts aren’t as sharp or fine-grained as obsidian but, if you get a good pebble, they can be used to make some pretty good tools!
