Be an archaeologist! Discover the excitement of digging at the Bodo Archaeological Site and learn the basic skills of excavation and artifact identification from a professional archaeologist. The excavation will take place at the Bodo Bison Skulls Site, where a 500 year old communal bison kill site has been uncovered. This camp focuses on fieldwork, but no previous excavation experience is required. Participants will make a contribution to the understanding of precontact history in Alberta and on the greater Northern Plains. This program includes excavation, informative presentations, tours, and optional group activities.
Age: 16 years and older
Duration: 2 to 5 day camps available; daily 9 am – 4 pm.
Dates: June 8-11, July 4-8, and August 2-5, 2022.
Cost: $125.00 per day / person; lunch included (*note – this may change depending on covid rules/restrictions at the time. If lunch is not included, the price will be modified to reflect the change).
