Adult Dig Camp


Be an archaeologist! Discover the excitement of digging at the Bodo Archaeological Site and learn the basic skills of excavation and artifact identification from a professional archaeologist. The excavation will take place at the Bodo Bison Skulls Site, where a 500 year old communal bison kill site has been uncovered. This camp focuses on fieldwork, but no previous excavation experience is required. Participants will make a contribution to the understanding of precontact history in Alberta and on the greater Northern Plains. This program includes excavation, informative presentations, tours, and optional group activities.

Age: 16 years and older

Duration:  2 or 4 day camps available; daily 9 am – 4 pm.

2020 Dates: June 11-16, July 6-10 and August 6-11

Cost: $125.00 per day / person (includes lunch and snacks)

You need: to provide your own breakfast, supper and accommodations. Tipis are available for rent by request. Serviced campsites are available at Bodo. Wolf Willow B&B is located nearby. Please inquire for more information or visit our Accommodations page.
